Half of 2021 is already through. Time sure flies. I’ve read a total of twenty-nine books so far. That isn’t the most I’ve read in six months, but it tops my reading rates for that period for the past eight years. To celebrate, I compiled a list of five of my favorite books I’ve reviewed this year, in the order that I reviewed them (plus a bonus book). Purchase links are included with all reviews.
Ananda: Poetry for the Soul by Lali A. Love
Ananda was not only a spiritually empowering book of poetry, it had some beautiful illustrations and shared some amazing quotes.
Shared Madness by Rick Moskovitz
This was such a mind-bending psychological thriller. I reviewed the audiobook version through Readers’ Favorite. Both the story and the narrator were phenomenal.
Legion That Was by Vijay Hare
If you’re into historical fiction set in Ancient Rome, you’ll probably love this. It’s packed with great characters and has more than one epic battle scene.
The Theurgy of the Gods: A Flight in the Heavens by Gabrielle Gagne-Cyr
In the mood for high fantasy with some sci-fi and steampunk vibes? This one’s for you. Bonus points for awesome characters, a unique magic system, and a flying ship.
My Review
Give Place to Wrath by Steven C. Harms
Ugh, this was an emotional read, but it was a fantastic mystery thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. I second-guessed my suspicions right up to the end.

Generation Manifestation by Steven Bereznai
This was originally published as I Want Superpowers back in 2016, but the author rebranded it. With themes of friendship and finding one’s place and a strong focus on comic books, it was easy to enjoy.
